Diversity, Equality and Inclusion at Leslie.

People and energy are at the heart of everything we do, with our growing global team spanning many markets and disciplines, we’re committed to building and empowering an inclusive community at Leslie. Growing a future like ours can’t be achieved by a single person or a singular mindset, and our goals can only be achieved by having a diverse and inclusive team where each team member feels valued and empowered to fully engage in their work every day.

We focus on representation, community, engagement, culture, and education so that we become a workplace where everyone can contribute, grow and  succeed, and make a difference. We’re growing fast, and whilst we have an amazing and diverse team there are always things we as an employer can do to improve and make a difference.

We know that cultural events, memorial days and celebrations of achievement are important…

March is Women’s History Month which highlights the contributions of women to historical events and contemporary society.

It all started after thousands of women rallied in New York City for better working conditions and the right to vote in 1908, leading members of the Socialist Party to launch an even bigger gathering of suffragists and women’s rights groups for the first International Women’s Day in 1909. By 1911, women around the world joined the movement and began marching in honour of International Women’s Day. The commemorative date did not receive worldwide recognition until the United Nations commemorated the day in 1975.

International Women’s History Month sees several missions to help forge a gender-equal world. This involves celebrating achievements and increasing visibility, whilst calling out inequality. This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias – imagine a gender equal world; a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination; a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive; a world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Leslie is a technology company first and foremost. Improving diversity and inclusion in STEM is a global effort and this means employers being active in enhancing the careers of everyone in technology. Giving everyone equal opportunities to pursue – and thrive in – STEM careers helps to narrow the gender pay gap; enhances economic security; and ensures a more diverse and talented STEM workforce, which together all work towards helping prevent biases in our field, and the products and services we and our industry produces.

We strongly believe a diverse and inclusive team accelerates the achievement of our vision and mission, leads to innovation for our customers and an engaging workplace experience for our people – so today we say thank you to all the women who have made an impact at Leslie, past and present, to the women who have helped shape the future and success of our organisation and to the future top-talent that we will welcome to the Leslie Tribe.

Use #BreakTheBias when getting involved on social media and have your say on equality.
